vivo iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G with Snapdragon 855+ is now official!

Vivo has finally announced its pair of gaming smartphones under the iQOO brand, and is offering it into two variants, a regular 4G LTE model, and a 5G version.

The vivo iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G comes with a large 6.41-inch full HD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED panel, with vivo’s in-display fingerprint sensor. It will have the similar waterdrop display from the OPPO and realme handsets.

For the imaging, the iQOO Pro features a triple-camera setup. The main sensor is a 48MP sensor with f/1.79 aperture, paired with 2MP sensor for depth sensing. The third camera is a 12MP sensor is with f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, while the selfie is a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 lens. Nothing too fancy.

The iQOO Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chip, which is an overclock version of the flagship Snapdragon 855. System-wise, the iQOO Pro and iQOO Pro 5G will ship with vivo’s Funtouch 9 on top of Android 9 Pie.

Keeping the lights on is a decent 4,500mAh of battery, with support for 44W ultra fast charging. Thanks to vivo’s SuperFlash charge technology, the vivo iQOO Pro can charge its battey from zero to 100 percent in less than an hour.

Vivo offers the regular 4G iQOO Pro in two configurations. The 8GB/128GB base model asks for CNY 3,198 ($451, est. Rs 32,000), while expect to throw in CNY 3,498 ($493, est. Rs 35,000) for the 12GB/128GB variant.

The 5G iQOO Pro, on the other hand, has three versions. The iQOO Pro 5G starts at CNY 3,798 ($536, est. Rs 38,000) for the 8GB/128GB model, CNY 3,998 ($564, est. Rs 40,000) for the 8GB/256GB, and CNY 4,098 ($578, est. Rs 41,000) for the top-tier 12GB/128GB model.

Vivo already starts pre-ordering the iQOO Pro 4G in China, with expected shipping of as early as August 30. The 5G model will pre-sale tomorrow with limited availability. An open pre-booking will commence on 29th of August, followed with iQOO Pro 5G’s official release on September 2.
