Realme to announce the world’s first smartphone with a 64MP camera!

It seems to be a good time for the realme fans. Realme CEO, Madhav Sheth, just announced on Twitter that the company is gearing to launch the world’s first smartphone with a whopping 64-megapixel camera.

In the tweet, Sheth posted a photo which appears to have been taken with a “64MP AI Quad Camera.” In the same tweet, Sheth also revealed that the phone will be using the newly launched GW1 sensor by Samsung. He also assured his Indian fans that the phone will launch first in India.

The sensor in question is the 1/1.72-inch Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. It maximizes its resolution at 64-megapixel, but can also capture 16-megapixel images in lowlight scenarios through Samsung’s proprietary Tetracell technology. The sensor would also support up to 100-decibels (dB) real-time HDR and even capture 480fps slow-motion videos in 1080p (full HD) resolution. In addition to this, the sensor also features “Super PD”, a high-performance phase detection auto-focus technology.

While it’s too early to speculate what this phone really is, some fans claim that it could be the global variant of the realme X. Should this be the company’s answer to Xiaomi K20 Pro (which, by the way, is set to launch in India soon), we should expect flagship-grade specifications.

We are talking about a large AMOLED display, UFS 2.1 storage, and of course, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. And also, we shouldn’t forget that the phone will also come with a Quad-camera setup. God knows what’s in store.
