Nokia 5.1 Plus with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage is now available in India!

September of last year, HMD Global proudly announced the Nokia 5.1 Plus (Nokia X5), on top of its regular Nokia 5 lineup. The phone promises users a better gaming performance, and some fancy AI tricks, thanks to its powerful MediaTek Helio P60. Unfortunately, the phone only comes in with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. No other variants were made available since then, but less than a month before the MWC 2019, looks like things are changing.

HMD Global will be offering two new variants of the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India via its Nokia India website, and its partner, Flipkart. The Nokia 5.1 Plus with 4GB RAM and 64GB variant will be sold for only INR 14,499 ($202), whilst the 6GB RAM model which also has 64GB ROM for INR 16,499 ($230). Sale starts February 7 for the online channels, while sales via retail stores across the country will commence on February 12.

If you haven’t get your hands on with the device yet, the price of the 3GB/32GB variant has also been marked down. The Nokia 5.1 Plus is now being sold for INR 9,999 via Nokia India website, and INR 10,599 via Flipkart. A slight markdown from its original price of INR 10,999.

For the specs, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is rocking the MediaTek Helio P60 processor operating at up to 2.0GHz. The display is a large 5.86-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with features a notch. If we even call that a feature. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but is upgradeable up to 2 years. Thanks to the Android One branding.

For the imaging, the Nokia 5.1 Plus has a dual rear-facing camera, but without the ZEISS optics. At the back, there is a 13-megapixel camera with a slightly brighter f/2.0 lens. It also has a 5-megapixel camera which is only good for depth sensing. Flipping the phone, we see an 8-megapixel with a dimmer f/2.2 lens.
